In portuguese the word for Reading and address is "preleicao". We use it in our meetings. Please see below the Preleicao on 17/09/2014.
Wherever two or three are gathered in my name, I'll be there. Mt 18:20
Gather in Jesus' name is not limited to physically bring people together, but spiritually aggregate the participants for sharing of intentions and thoughts for good. Only then Jesus will be present at the meeting; he or pure spirits that represent. As Spiritists, we know that spirits may be among us with its fluidic or spiritual body, and the appearance that allow us to recognize them if they wanted to become visible.
Jesus' words emphasize the effect of union and fraternity. Not the biggest or the smallest number of people that attracts, but the feeling of charity that animates each other. Now, for this, suffice two. If, however, these two people, yet who turn to Jesus, pray for each other, or see with hate, envy or jealousy, the fluidic currents repel their thoughts and they are not fulfilled in Jesus' name.
For Jesus is the real reason for the meeting, and not its mere pretext, it is essential that people are in communion of thought and be moved by the feeling of mutual benevolence.
This fact does not imply that Jesus be indifferent to the voice of a single person. After all, he also said: "I turned to all who call me". What the mention of two or three people would mean is the spirit of charity towards the others that must animate the hearts of those who pray and that is most evident when you have company.
Is therefore not the simultaneity of words, songs or outward acts which constitute the meeting in the name of Jesus, but the communion of thoughts in the spirit of charity personified by him. That should be the character of serious spiritualist meetings at which it is intended sincerely get the contest of good spirits.
